I have a problem with my Westech combination Boost/EGT gauge light. I was trying to replace the light and while I was pulling the tube out the small light bulb wire broke off and the light is inside the instrument case. Question:DOES ANYBODY KNOW HOW TO TAKE THIS GAUGE APART SO I CAN GET THE BULB OUT?

I sure would like to hear from someone today so I can get this fixed before Monday.

Thank You,

Bob Caldwell

Can't help with how to get the gauge apart, never tried it but Geno's can supply you with a replacement light bulb.

Rather than dismantling the gauge, I would try to drill a hole and push the bulb out from the front.

Maybe you can use the smallest drill bit you can find. After you drill the hole, you use the bit's blunt end to push the bulb out. Then fill the hole with something.

... ... just a thought.

Bob,

Not sure if this will work but here goes, cut a piece of coat hanger, bend the end a bit and gob a bit of bubble gum on it then go fishing. I haven't tried this with a gauge before but it's worth a try before sending the gauge out? It would probably help if you could get an eye on the piece of the bulb that's broken. I have had a gauge apart before - it seems to me the front cover is rolled over the glass and everything else is inside - it's a real bear putting it back together and not breaking the glass.
