hey I know this is asked a billion times

however I was wondering what would be needed to rebuild a 4500 to live behind my following modifications

It wont see any towing and very little dragging maybe once or twice a month and the occasional street race

I have or plan to have the following mods and nothing more

2002 Front mount (debating on this)

16cm housing or a HX40(think thats the next step turbo)

KDP fix

Guages

Timing adjust

AFe air filter

5" exhaust

#10 fuel plate

4K GSK

Valve springs

Clutch (whatever is recommended

Exhaust brake

by the way any idea on the power of something like this just out of curiosity

1998 12 Valve, ext cab, short bed 4X4

Joseph

thank you very much

now just so i am totally certain is it the following kit

http://www.standardtransmission.com/dodge.html

the “Texas Chili Dog”

and maybe I read this wrong but are you saying that it will take up to 800hp cause I know my truck wont be making that amount with those mods...

thanks alot I really appreciate your time and help

Carl

yes. If your bearings and synchros are OK, just the mainshaft/5th gear/nut kit will do it. My 97 made 800 and my trans just had rebuiild parts plus the above kit in it. I did all that when I changed to a 98 trans because I couldn't get a long time on the lift back then and needed a bolt in replacement trans. Obviously the clutch matters, and if you are hammering on it, the input shaft diameter may need to be upgraded from the stock 1. 25" 10 splines. I was not so hard on the truck (no 4000 rpm and dump the clutch stuff).
