I saw this BBQ grill @ walmart, anyone know anything about it?

Software writers, I need your help.

Markcuda should enjoy this one. .

How much garbage do you put out for the trash man to pick up? Or do you take it to the dump yourself?

Does the trash man, neighbor or a stranger sort through your garbage?

Do you sort through other peoples garbage?

Have you seen someone eat something that you've thrown away?

How much do you pay to have your garbage hauled?

Is it leagal in your town to throw dirty diapers in the garbage?

Doc

I pay about 55 per quarter, five bags per pickup which is once per week. Usually put out two big black bags rather than a bunch of little ones. If I recycled more, I would barely have one big bag per week. I limit my recycling because my township has those big blue boxes with the little bitty openings. I don't recycle as much as I could because of those dam boxes. Stupid little holes that you can only put like one can at a time in. Who has time for that?

Most everyone burns here. I only burn brush and trees or scrap pallets or lumber. That takes care of the big stuff.

I put out 2-100 gallon rumpke cans a week. they charge 10 a month for the cans. The city of fairfield charges 7. 50 a month for the actual pickup of trash. and yes we throw away about 70 diapers a week. and 1 oil filter too. :p

Doc, What do you mean "put out"?

We just save all ours in the basement. It sure cuts down on the monthly bills, visitors too. When it gets full we move. ;)

We had the mini dumpster tote for our weekly service for $58. 00 per quarter. I recycle everything I can now, and we changed service (last week) to the $2. 50 pre-paid bag service.

Recyling up here is much easier than in Toledo. There are 3 bins for glass, cans, and plastic in one bin, mixed paper in another, and carboard in the last. (Toledo had separate bins for each kind of paper, each color of glass, each metal-- a real PITA) I got 3 sqaure cans that fit in the openings of the recycle bins, and a small round one to hold the trash bags.

My next move is to see if the recycle truck can be persuaded to come to our neighborhood. It is amazing how much crap you can keep out of the landfill with a small effort.

QRTRHRS - You are not the problem....

QRTRHRS - the problem with the little doors is a more general problem but one that we see often today because of IDIOT's. They have the small openings to prevent (rather discourage) wacko's from putting every conceivable piecs of crap you can imagine in these bins. Just like speed bumps that punish us all - these items are a cost of "modern society. " Ain't it great.....

4 cans a week one pickup.

No!

No!

No!

$25. 66 for the quarter.

Who the hell knows? Why wouldnt it be, I mean... it is garbage isnt it?

I put anything I want in there, and it's gone the next day. Recycling is a bunch of B. S.

Eric

You're right Eric, recycling isn't the earth friendly operation it's cracked out to be. I read a study that said unless you are in a major city close to recycling plants the cost of transport outweighs the value of the recycled item, excluding aluminum and cardboard. This doesn't include what happens when your local landfill is full and your trash has to be hauled 150 miles to a new one. That's what happened when I lived in WA, price for a once a week dumpster went from $18/mo to $75/mo. That makes you start considering recycling more.
