My '03 HO came with the base Michelins. I travel to south Georgia about once a month towing a tandem axle trailer loaded with 2 4-wheelers, a generator, 2 55 gallon drums of water, in other words a pretty consistant load on every trip. Using cruise control my average fuel mileage for the whole trip with the Michelins is 17. 2 MPG at 70 mph. I mounted a set of Buckshot Mudders (same size as the Michelins) & made the trip. Same load, same speed on cruise, similar ambient weather conditions. Got 15. 4 mpg. Could feel a noticable difference in the way the truck behaved on downhills. I have an AFE air filter & have no silencer ring so can hear the turbo pretty well. The turbo would not spin down near as much as it would with the Michelins indicating much more rolling resistance. I expected some difference, but not that much. Oo. :{ . I guess it beats getting stuck in that Georgia clay, though.
