Its a sad note when the auto companys use the wrong paints. Its my understanding they try to buy all componments as cheap as they can and I have to wonder if they might not get a great deal on a trillion gallons of primer and then get a great deal on the topcoat from another company and bingo, they aren't compatable. {When GM hired me they told us they would buy products from Ford if they were the cheapest. } Painting requires certain rules to be followed and I think sometimes the factories just blow it. When the paint peels, its delamination and something was done wrong. Lexus pays a lot of attention to their paint jobs and just try to find orange peel on their cars.
