These two TSB's I would like to here from anyone that has had them done or knows of anyone. affected mileage (good or bad, was a real improvement over all, or don't even consider doing a reflash). I do lite to moderate towing.

18-027-02 Lack of power while towing while trans is in OD (47RE Trans)

I had them both done at the same time so I don't know which one to credit, but my truck used to stay in 3rd gear at WOT (while towing). It will now shift through to 4th gear.

18-027-02 Lack of power while towing while trans is in OD (47RE Trans)

I had the 18-015-03 flash done as my truck would not up shift into OD out of third, while in cruise and after a downshift. While this did fix that problem, it seems (and always did seem) that the PCM can never find the right gear or converter lock while towing in hills. Really annoying. (I should have bought the manual trans. )



The 18-027-02 fix is one I plan on getting but have not had. I pull a camper which is around 10K lbs and when in OD on the flat, there is NO power. It is very noticeable. When towing in any kind of wind in cruise, the truck gets into a "loop" of slowing down, downshifting until back to set cruise speed, up shifting into OD, slowing down, repeat. This is on a level road. (I29 along the Missouri in Iowa for example). This had me so frustrated I was going to trade the damn thing in. Not good for a $35K truck, IMHO.



Anyone have an opinion on this: should I get the flash and a "power adder" box, or just get the box and be done with it?



Oh, there was no mileage change after the 18-015-03 flash.
