Well it is time to get rid of those old foged over headlights. I saw a post some time ago about recomendations but can't find it. What headlights work the best. I have been looking at the Anzo Projector lights but have heard problems with getting them to adjust right. Any sugestions would be appreciated. I would like to get more light output than what the stock lamps gave me for both Hi and Lo beams. 99 Non Sport

Aftermarket Headlights

Dear Sir:

I have not replaced the headlights in my 1998. 5 2500 truck but I have done so for my 1997 Dodge Grand Caravan. The product that I used were made by a company name Keystone. The product was made in Asia but I must say that I was impressed with the quality of the units. They were of better quality than the OEM units and worked perfectly--screws went in exactly as required and the connectors did just that--connect. No adjustments whatsoever. They were moderately priced for what you get--about $60 a side. (I found them on the Internet after a suggestion from a body shop. )

Getting more lumens from your lamps is a bit trickier. There maybe posts of the attempts made by other people. If you are thinking of high intensity lights, I believe that it involves a little bit of engineering--not impossible, just not a "plug and play" type installation. Others may have ideas on just how to do it.

The best bang for your buck is the sport light upgrade, by far. Do a search and you will read for hours, maybe days. I did this with my truck, using the ebay source for the lights and the SUV harness. Everything went together pretty easy and the light output is superior to the hazed/fogged standard factory headlight package.

I agree with the Sport Headlight upgrade and the SUV wiring harness. We are upgrading all of our trucks as the headlights get "foggy". We use new "Sport" headlights from Certifit, and phillips Ultra bulbs. The new lights are great. I think that the upgrade to sport headlights is one of the best "bang for your bucks".

Thanks for the input. I have some thinking to do. One more question regarding the Sport upgrade. I have the Buck Stop bumber. When I ordered it theay asked if I had a Sport set up. I am wondering if that has anything to do with the headlight or the body set up.

Should have nothing to do with the lights. The Sport grille hangs lower than the non sport so the bumper has to be cut lower in the center to accommodate.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong but that's how mine is:
