Do we even need a functioning lift pump?

Currently I am using a BHAF and have found the need to lower EGT a bit more after sliding plate forward a tad. :D For the cost which filter set-up will drop temps the most Megacannon or Scotty II? Or is there another option in filters? I work the truck pretty hard and don't want to buy twice. I realize I will have to upgrade the turbo soon but have to wait for BFR (Bomb Fund Resupply).

How many degrees did your temp drop with the filter change??

filters

I had a JRE cold air filter installed today, its a giant K&N cone w/ prefilter. It gives you somewhere in the 1500 CFM range. Normal driving EGT's 600-700 degrees.

Scotty 2

This is my suggestion. http://www.dieselpowerplus.com/

I haven't got my Scotty2 yet but with the Scotty 1 I was getting 150 deg towing and 100 deg empty. I took it off this winter to try and get more hot air during the cold months. Even in the dead of winter I saw an increase of 100 deg just cruising down the freeway.

Scotty air systems works!!!!!:D

Don't see a plate in your sig so assume that you have a stock plate slid forward. A stock plate slid forward is probably the worst combo for high EGTs. A TST plate will do more to lower your EGTs than an airfilter

Illflem, plate is stock but reground by Scheid. Basically it is flat (perpindicular) with a 90 deg step then angled at about 45 deg down toward the bottom. It is about halfway in the slot. Was all the way back when dynoed.
