Ok guys, I am confused on what to use, I saw Zerez Extended life in TDR mag #32. Is anyone using it? Or my other option unless you guys say differnetly is goint to fleetgaurd. But what antifreeze to use from them is beyond me. What is Applicable for these trucks.

I used the Chrysler antifreeze last summer. I figure if the truck came with it, it should be OK. Sure hope so. I figure I'll change it every spring to keep it fresh.

shell elc been in there for over 3 years and 100,000 miles . just changed the thermostat every thing clean as a whistle.

What coolant to use? Thats a question that takes a book of info to answer correctly.

If you spend some time reading about the various "Name brands" you find that there is great coolant and then you'll probably find out you have bought coolant that you wouldn't use for free now.

Read the label, do they tell you whats actually in it,what standards it meets or just give you a "sells pitch"?

Try these links for some good info:

There are lots of other sites also.

From what I can tell the premix Zerex G-05, Cat ELC and Rotella ELC would be some of the better choices.

A "GM" Dex-Cool type would be a poor choice in a Dodge with a Cummins. I have noticed if it runs low, air in the system makes it a nice "orange gel".

If you want the ultimate trouble combo get the green stuff and some hard well water. I bought a few radiators learning that.
