Hi Guys, I'm asking this question for a friend who has a '03 3500. He is changing out the antifreeze and swears it came from the factory with Dex Cool and after reading all the problems that GM owners are having with the stuff I thought I'd check here and see if it was factory fill. On the same question what would you recommend he refill it with?

Thanks, George

According to the Zerex site, their G-05 is what is in all Chrysler vehicles now. It just has a dye to make it a different color.

I used G-05 to top mine off a few weeks ago. I'm coming up on 100K, so it's almost time to change the coolant. I'll use the same stuff.

Thanks for the responses. My buddy would have just gone down and bought some "Dex-cool" and possibly ruined his engine. Funny thing is he builds drag cars but won't take the time to read his trucks owners manuel!!

Been using good ol' Prestone in mine now the past 150k or so miles. Seems to work great! Also, mix in some RMI-25 when I flush it out every 50 k.

I've been running Fleetguard Compleat PG for over 3 years now. According to Fleetguard, I will not need to replace this coolant until the first engine rebuild.

Note: the owners manual specifically prohibits the use of PG. I have no idea why.
