I recently started smelling raw diesel coming through my ac. So my uncle and I popped the hood and noticed fuel coming from the top of my motor where the injectors are located. Hes had the same issue and put new injectors on man other trucks seeing as hes a mechanic. I want to know if i should just upgrade to bigger horsepower injectors or stock? I use my truck daily hauling hay or farm equipment and would like more power. Any info is welcome. Thanks for you time.

P. S. My pump is also leaking as well. Is there a VE pump rebuild kit? I haven't found one.

You can get reseal kits at the parts house or on line , how ever unless your real confident id take it into the shop and a good reputible on . On the injectors look at peirs site (pdr) new one they have a chart , id just go one over stock , big is nice but drive ability does suffer some .

You can try PDR and they would have a set of injectors that would be a fit for what you are looking for. Bosch 185s were a great injector until Bosch realized how popular they were - then the price went through the roof. The marine injector 370s are still available and last I heard they were still reasonably priced. When you call PDR or visit their site you can find what they would recomend for your truck.

Are you sure your leak is from the injector or is it leaking from the injector return line?

Good luck and BTW welcome to the TDR:DOo.

First thought, what year? 89/90 or a 91-93?

You likely just need to adjust the pump for power. Would allow you to buy the most economically priced injector and run the pump for the juice. If you get into 370s, you will also need to install a boost and pyro gauge to ensure you dont melt a piston. And logically you will need an air filter to help get more air in to cool the pyro. And that will result in exhaust to get the heat out. May as well do a turbo snail if you are in there (especially if a 92). At that point may as well start considering timing adjustment.....

And regardless of what transmission (auto or stick), if adding power be mindful stock transmissions don't like power all that much. ;)

Welcome to the funny farm. Start BOMBing and have fun. :D
