Are the rear axle housings on the early 3rd Gens different on the 10. 5 vs. the 11. 5? Or is it just the internal parts?

(I tried a search, but didn't find what I was looking for. )

The axle housings are different. The 10. 5 looks quite a bit smaller than the 11. 5.

First photo is 10. 5. Second photo is 11. 5. Marked difference when viewed in person.

what is "3. 73 ETH/DEE" on your rig (in your signature <ETH/DEE>)

I should probably edit that out of there. Only the "old timers" will understand it.

3. 73 is my rear axle ratio.

ETH/DEE are the old ordering codes that indicate a high-output engine (ETH) and 6-speed transmission (DEE).

In the old days, that's how many people would give their engine and transmission specs without using up a lot of signature block space. I didn't start it, the 1st & 2nd gen guys did.

I always thought of it as sort of a "secret handshake". ;)

Ryan :)

Lsd?

Yeah; I knew what the 3. 73 meant. :)

How does one know if they have a LSD (limited slip diff)? I think they were far-and-few between on the 2003s.

I can't find my old window sticker.

Thanks!
