I always get bored over the winter and come up with ideals about things to do once the warmer weather arrives. This year is no different and I have several projects ahead to keep me busy this spring, and I was just wondering what you guys are planing?

For my Dodge, I have a Strobe light kit to install, it's the kind that goes in the front headlights and rear tail lights (undercover). Then for the front I ordered a Skyjacker dual in-line steering stabilizer and a Poison Spyder Rock Ring to protect the differential. I also have a water injection kit to install.

So what do you guys plan on doing? I also have some plans for some other than Dodge vehicles, any of you guys working on something interesting?

I plan on finishing my rear four link suspension, installing an ARB locker up front, I too have the water/meth kit to install yet, install hadley bullys, and rear road armor bumper on the way to install.

Any pics or more info on that "Poison Spyder Rock Ring" maybe a link ?

Thanks

BBD

For my dodge, a front air ride, along with painting the front axle and front portion of the frame with por 15. Then redoing alot of the wiring to make it cleaner, more guages, replumb my air system and upgrade the compressor for on board air. Lots of other stuff I prolly won't get to either.

I'm planning on starting a frame off on a 90 chevy pickup this spring also. Converting from std cab LB to std cab SB. Some new sheet metal, engine, trans, interior, and prolly a full air suspension in the end.

The web addy for poison spuder is

www.spydercustoms.com

they have pictures there. I love having things to do, it makes the winter go by faster. You guys sound like "tinkerers", so am I. I think there are more tinkerers with diesels by percentage then gassers. I guess they are drawn to it?

The front ARB locker and rear 4-link set-up sound cool, and very interresting. I would like to konw how the install went and how it works out for you. Looking forward to seeing some pictures also. CI, what type of air compressor are you going to run? I have a Quick-Air w/tank and have been very pleased with it's performance. What kind of air bags are you going to use on the front? Sounds interresting.

I also have a Ford desert pre-runner truck I am working on, I have already bought the following parts and will install them once the weather turns warmer.

Msd DIS ignition control, Accel coils,MSD 8. 5 wire set,Jet Performance chip,Volant cold air intake kit,and a Throttle body spacer by Airaid.

On the inside a Autometer 5" Colbalt tach, oil press, and vac gauges, some asorted dress-up items and a new set of traction bars.

I wish I had neibors that were cool and new something about cars. I think I am the only one here that works on there own vehicles, it sucks. I love working on them, but it would be nice to have someone else to help and shoot the bull with. There also isn't anyone else with a diesel truck here, just littel cars and mini-vans (god I hate mini-vans).

You guys check back in and up-date your progress, sound like fun. Also, is your frame rusting? Was your truck undercoated?

Tony. . you do have neighbors... US LOL

we'll do everything we can to give moral support and ADVISE [good or bad LOL]. .

got more things to do than space to type. . mostly related to 5er install stuff and additional power "enhancements"

I'm going with the kelderman bags and bag mounts for a 4" lift, and using the skyjacker front box kit for the control arms and trackbar drop, pitman, etc. on the dodge, and prolly air ride technologies stuff on the chevy.

The chevy was my dads' old truck, whom recently passed away, and I felt I needed to do something with it as I could not bring myself to get rid of something he loved so much, even though he NEVER took care of it, hehe.

Not sure on the compressor. Looking for one with about 150psi max pressure, and 100% duty cycle so I can run air tools, etc. with it.

My frame isn't rusting at all, but I'm sure eventually it will (lots of salt in the winter up here), so since the front end is coming off I'm going to coat everything so it never does. The axle however does have some of the paint chipping off and rusting so that needs to get painted.

I have plans for some fender flares, once I decide which ones to get. Then, a set of air horns and tank, 4" exhaust, AFE intake, most likely a TST box, and a clutch. My NW Custom flaps are already at home waiting to be installed. After that, I don't know. So many choices, so little time... ... ..... and $$$ LOL

I'm getting my garage under way (30x60 with lift) so when that's done I can start on the truck. I would like to go ahead and add some performance goodies, but I only have 3500 miles on the truck, so I haven't even given it a chance to break. May go ahead and do the audio/video system I want to do.

i plan on making some pedal covers out of perforated grip plate steel [1/8" thick] then applying some accessories i have at home [ running boards, ventvisors, aluminum fuel fill door] and de-badging the truck, and applying exhaust system [plan on buying that within weeks] then maybe making an air inlet pipe setup to allow me to use a bhaf type filter on my 3rd gen

Too many projects,

Never enough time. Imagine if work didn't take up all our free time, we'd all have time to work on our toys. I guess I'll buy another lottery ticket.

One of my projects this year is on a 55 Chevy pickup I've owned since 1978. It's been stock to 4x4 with 1 ton running gear to what it is now, pro-street. Currently it has a 6-71 blown 427 with a 400 turbo going to a narrowed 9-inch with 21x33 tires.

I intend to drive it to Muncie in 2005, I know it won't be there this year. Why would I drive this to Muncie? Because the 427 is comin' out so I can put in a mildly

 warmed up 12 valve which is soon to be gone through. I'll be using a 47rh trans and leaving the rest as is. I've never even started the 427 since I built most of the truck in the early nineties. It's got a Camaro subframe and the rest of the chassis is 2x4 tubing with a 4-link in back.

Soon after I built the frame, I domesticated and reproduced. I've been sorta busy for a while. Now, my son can help me work on it.

By the way y-knot, you're only 30 minutes from me. I'm kinda like a neighbor. Gimme a call sometime 859-635-5655.

Truck needs a thorough cleaning and all the vital fluids changed. Four inch exhaust and Water Meth to be installed as soon as it warms up abit. Only been in the 60's which is still too cold to even wash the truck. Fred of Desert Diesel is going to do some more transmission work on Sunday when it's supposed to get to 70. Might not have to wear the thermals that day.

Thermals on a 60 deg. day!!!!!!!!! Man I would be out in shorts and a t-shirt workin on my truck if it was that warm. It's gonna get to like -7 here tomorrow night. I guess it's al relative :p

Geeees, it isn't even 60 in the house... . it must be nice? But soon I'll no, we plan on heading south or west in a year or two, just as soon as the boy graduates. You need to tell my wife 60 is to cold to wash the truck, she still goes out to wash off her wheels in this stuff. God I love her!

My plans for the winter... . work my rear end off so I can buy some more stuff for the truck. .

Going to get the transmission redone soon. Install the supermentals for the summer. New tires this summer. Going to get my second set of stock rims powdercoated black and see how that looks on the truck for the summer. Need to clean up some wiring. Need to work on dual lift pump system. Need to wash and wax the beast. Need to detail the interior too. The list goes on and on.

Hoping I win the lottery so my list can include:

Twin turbos

P7100 conversion

Cam

port and polish

Nitrous

Meth/water injection

New truck to tow race truck around... you get the idea.

Well the first major plans coming up in the next couple of weeks are

1) Installing my 13" Con FE I'm ordering Monday! Oo.

2) Installing my PDR 370 injectors that are antagonizing me on th counter in the kitchen.

3) Re-installing my #10 Oo. Oo. Oo.

Then when warmer weather gets here I have a couple of things on my to-do list.

1) Re-install my Grover with new 12V compressor and air tank.

2) Wire up my 55watt driving lights on my reciever hitch to a 3-way toggle Up- On in reverse Middle-Off Down- On Constant

3) Along with the reverse lights fix my custom plate that replaces my cup holder and mount it with toggles.

So far that's all.

Since you mentioned getting your rims powdercoated black, I thought I'd post a pic of my old truck. It had black powdercoated eagle alloy 589s at the time of the pic.
