Sneaky Northern Tool

Air lines in a shop, what would you use?

I just replaced a 6 year old Black & Decker 14 volt with a Costco Coleman 18v for about $36, including 2 batteries, charger, and misc. bits and case. This was cheaper that replacing just one battery for the B&D. I've used it about 6 weeks now and it works just fine.

Just about everything I have corded or not is DeWalt. Just picked up an 18v kit including drill, circular saw and recip saw three batteries, two chargers and two cases for $214. 00. DeWalt rep was at Lowe's with various deals. This set was supposed to be buy two for 299. 99 and get the third free. Rang in two sets 3 times and still came up at $430. 00. They said ok here you go. Three weeks later they were here.

I use Hilti stuff, bought their 18V drill/driver and it works pretty well. I think its a SF 180. I'd like to pick up their angle grinder, I could use another one of those.

Just bought a new 18v Panasonic drill. It's a lesser known brand that gets good reviews from owners. So far I'm quite pleased with the power and battery life.

My first drill was the 9. 6 Milwaukee which never impressed me. When Dewault came out with the 18V, I bought one. When facing a large job, I also bought the Porter Cable 19. 2 which is far supperior to the Dewault. Easier to change the battery and while it is only 1. 2V more, the PC runs far longer and stronger than the Dewault.

For WIW, my arsenal of corded includes Milwaukee, Bosch and Porter Cable

My only cordless unit is an old (1996 vintage) Craftsman 13. 2v (weird) drill. When it dies (I keep thinking it's going to die, but it keeps going) I'm going with either Makita or Milwaukee.

I have purchased and used all of the above but recently have been converted over to Hilti. They are more expensive, but significantly outperform all other brands we use (dewalt, makita, milwaukee, bosch, etc. ) We erect structural steel, so we are very abusive on tools and use them in extreme situations..... the Hilti stuff has not failed yet...

i've been using the milwaukee 18v stuff (1/2 hammer drill, sawzall, circular saw) for a while and like it, i do wish they had nimh batterys instead of nicd, the first set crapped in two years which annoyed me because they get used daily and i am use to batterys lasting much longer, first one dumped at just over a year, id love to have the 28v set but can't stomach the stupid price they are asking

Like a few others here, mine are Ryobi. I know they are not construction-grade tools, but I'm satisfied with them so far and they do what I need.

I like the Bosch 18 volt cordless hammer drill and the Panasonic drill which is slightly smaller and lighter I think it is also 18 volt. . Ken

Have 8 guys beating the drills to death every day. Best seems to be Milwaukee. Panasonic next. Dewalts last only a week or two. The Home Depot Rigids work ok but have a trail worn to the repair shop. Triggers-batteries and chargers. they do fix them but it is quite often. My biggest toughest guy won't use anything but Milwaukee anymore. Have a Bosch at home for light duty , but have not tried any Makita's . Maybe next time. larry

I own almost all of the Ryobi 18v + tools. (yes even the caucking gun) I own rental property and they hold up to all the work I do with them. Plus I like that I have 4 batteries for 10+ tools and the batteries are only $40. 00 for 2. -Jason
