Sneaky Northern Tool

Air lines in a shop, what would you use?

i have used alot of these over some time. i have found that the snap on cordless impact to be very well put together. but as for cordless shop tools id have to say my milwaukee 18 volt set of drill, circular, sawzall, and light have to be the best i have found. except the sawzall i have gone through 2 in 3 years. i have found that the dewalt sawzall lasts the longest. just my . 02

Just got a Panasonic 15. 6 volt, 3. 5 ah nmh, 1/2 inch. Compact and light. It has 390 inch pounds of torque. The 18 volt version has 420 in/lbs but was too big for my taste. All those high volt jobs are so friggen big and heavy.

I had the opportunity to hold a V28 and a Makita LXT 18v. The Makita was quite a bit lighter.

On edit - apparently, I'm an idiot. According to the specifications, the Milwaukee V28 hammer drill is 4. 4 lb whereas the Makita LXT 18v hammer drill is 4. 9 lb. I don't know why the Makita "felt" lighter... it wasn't!

While we're on the subject, I notice Milwaukee finally released their V18 hammer drill:

Link.

Ah, you got hooked by the big bad 350 ft/lb impact, too eh?

I haven't bought the matching drill yet--not in the budget--even though the Snap-on man keeps reminding me about how much he loves carrying me on the truck account. :-laf

Panasonic does make a fine 1/2" battery powered hammer drill. I had one that wass 6 years old and still doing the job. Those were 6 years working in heavy construction work. I gave it to my son because the batteries were'nt holding a good charge like they used to and 2 freaking batteries for any of these tools cost almost as much as a whole new tool.

BOSCH! Made in Germany, built like a brick s#@!house! 18V Brute Force hammer drill. Pick one up and compare it to similar DeWalt, Craftsman, Makita, or Millwaukee. Only drawback is the weight, but that's the price I paid for a well built tool. I like Millwaukee too, but the Bosch was better built. :)

anybody try the new style milwaukee 18v li ion replacement batterys yet? like these the nicad's suck imho, i am on my 2nd set of factory batterys but i rebuilt one of the old ones with nimh cells to see how it would work, but the solder tabs are not quite up to severe drilling power loads so i use it for my flash light, and back up light duty drilling/sawzall work when my main two packs are dead, i think the first pack crapped at around a year and that's with near daily use and good nicad cycling, i am not use to packs dieing that fast

Royobi

Cheap enough to replace them when they get "lost". Grrrrr!!!!

I'd be pretty angry if a $400+ cordless drill was stolen. For $50 I can get a new drill every year.

That's what I have... ... ... ... ... . they just keep on going and going and going... ... ... ... ... ... ... 2 healthy batteries is all you need even for the heavy duty 1/2 " hammer drills.
