Attention: TDR Forum Junkies 
Fifth gear seems to no longer exist on my truck. I had to slow down on the highway yesterday. I was in 5th gear and at about 1200rpm when I gave it full throttle to accelerate up back up to speed. Around 2000 rpm I heard a loud bang, and it felt like the transmission popped out of gear. I tried to put it back into 5th, but there is nothing there, it doesn’t grind, it just feels “empty” for lack of a better term
All other gears work fine, and there is no abnormal noises coming from the transmission. I’m curious to what let go? I’m still driving the truck and it will be a couple weeks before I’ll be able to take it in. I’m hoping I wont cause any further damage by driving it.
I have just under 110,000km on the truck so it’s covered under warranty, but I’m concerned about parts availability for this transmission. I really don’t want to be without my truck for months. I’m hoping it will be a relatively simple fix.
