Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) What can I do?

I found out I have a calif. truck Didn't know it when I bought it. When I got my transmission done at DTT I bought a smart controller & after Vinnie hooked it up it thru a code. Bill asked me if it was a calif truck I said I didn't know. After doing a little on-line checking he said it was. The smart cont. will work but my check engine lite will stay on. Do any of you guys know if the truck can be de-california-ized? Maybe reflashed or something. I would like to get rid of the check engine lite staying on. I know I can clear it but without unplugging the controller it will through another code. The code has to do with the transmission I forgot what they were.

Its not a flash. Its the software built right into the PCM and ECM. You would have to replace both computer boxes-Big Bucks. You are gonna have to live with the check engine light.

You can always remove the bulb for the Check Engine light. It will solve the problem of it being on all the time. Just offering the cheap way out.
