Ok guys. I have my truck almost done. I just pulled the rims to get them blasted. What color should I paint them?

Here is what it looks like now.

Truck is looking better Pete! The truck was totalled and gone now but I painted four oem steel wheels with rattle can hammer tone I got at WalMart of all the places and I was really surprised at the quality look of that hammer tone. I had four brand new dog dishes for the rims and wanted to try black on one side and silver on the other to see which looked better, I was hoping for the black to look better... But the silver really did look better in the end I thought. I had those rims painted and on there one day before that truck was hit totalling it and a van I had sitting behind it!

I'd paint them the same color as the truck... then accent it with some other color.

I like the true "dual exhaust system"... . a tail pipe AND stacks. You'll have soot everywhere!! LOL

Over on 1st gen I had JD yellow, red to match the cans, and a host of other assorted weirdos. I had another offer of aluminum rims too. :-laf

Blue, not just any blue, but "blue"(in a Jeff Dunham Voice)... ... ... Uhmm, Pete, that truck has too many exhaust out lets on it. Or is it a poser diesel with fake stacks that are just for "pretty"?:-laf

I liked the way my truck used to look WAY back in 1995, with gloss black rims, and stock beauty rings. Add some chrome lug nuts. .

Or do it like the 69 Road Runners came out, black steel wheels, and chrome lug nuts.

I vote Green or Silver. But, then, I have come to appreciate the joys of anonymity (yeah, easy in a 4x4 dually with stacks, right?)- helps one stay out of trouble. So, that said, I still think Green would be best on the truck. With some dog dish hub caps and beauty rings.

Michael, you shoulda been to #4. The stacks are real. Real smokey! :-laf

Ken, don't need tethers, got kids! I had the 5 yo put the cans on tonite, high point of his day. ;) He loves that truck. The 2 yo didn't want to go to the sitters, 'til I told him we were taking that, then he was 1st at the door.

I have black paint, but I might paint 1 or 2 green to see how it looks.

pete, the truck looks awesome! ive got to buy a camera so i can show you the latest things ive done to my old ride. since ive moved to NC and started diesel school i havent had time to get a camera. but ive done front and rear bumpers and a lifted it too.

i think your wheels would look good gloss black, they get dulled down enough with road dirt and dust, flat would be too dull for your wheels i think. honestly i wish your truck was 4x4, cause with that color and the flatbed and those beautiful crome stacks, the exact set of wheels i got on my truck would look real sharp on yours, they would really compliment the stacks.

Hi Jimmy! Wondered where you got to. ;) Now that I think about it, I haven't seen your brother Matt on lately either.

Did you paint the cab Pete? Looks a lot better than at the last SOP I think.

Spray the wheels with black bed liner.

Spray on bedliner? I'm gonna pee on your TDI next month! :-laf

New cab Matt. Been working on it for a while. I just mounted the tach and air pressure guages today.

I painted the inside of the rims black with a brush. In a few days I'll spray the outside green, see how it looks. Appreciate all the input.

'cept for the guy that said pink! Tim!
