Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) What Dana in my truck?

2002 3/4 ton SO auto. Is this a Dana 60 or 70. The Mag-hytek only list a 60 for the front. Was told my rear was a 60, doesn't make sense. DW

To my knowledge the 3/4 tons came with the Dana 70 and the dually's came with the Dana 80. I havent heard of a 3/4 ton diesel with a 60. (but I could be wrong) Maybe the previous owner had the axle replaced for some reason?

Automatic's had a 70 in the rear the 60 is up front.



Sticks have an 80 I'm pretty sure . . .

My 2001. 5 6speed has Dana 60 in the front,80 rear,both with Mag-Hytecs.

DWest - unless someone swapped your axles out you have a D60 front D70 rear. As said above the duallies and all the manuals have D80 rears, the auto SRW trucks have D70 rears. This is for 94-02

Actually you can check on the sticker underside of the hood or sticker in the glove box. Should alos give ratio - probably 3:54s

Do this. It's a sticker on the glove box door.

the rear is permantly embossed with the number in the front lower web on the pinion side of the housing. It should be a 70
