I just found out i have Military duty the weekend of the truck meet in Weathersfield. What do i do now?, should i try and reschedule the military duty? I cant decide. Hooters and lots of Diesel trucks is awfully tempting... ... Or, do i serve my country???,, Hmmm, Hooters and diesels?, or my country? HELP ME DECIDE!!!

I guess thats what ill have to do. So now it is "God, Country, TDR, Navy" They may not agree with that idea, but Cummins awaits. Ill have to think of a more reasonable excuse to tell them. I would hate to put down on my AA request "Attending diesel truck show at Hooters" I just hope there is a good turnout. #ad

This was the last drill weekend at Ft. Dix NJ

EMD,

Is that an M-16 you are shooting? Is it full auto or semi? How powerful is the cartrige? Like a . 30-. 30, or stronger like, . 30-. 06, . 308, . 377?

Tough decision on what to do. I would go with your first priority. Military Duty. :)

It does look like an M-16, and if that is the case, it is a . 223 caliber.

It's a M-16 A2 or A3 ? (been awhile since I served, when I left they were A2's). The cartridge is 5. 56mm, . 223 to all you PFC's. Higher M. V. than a 30-30 but with less bullet weight. I believe the scope is an ACOG ? Correct EMDDIESEL ?

Its the M16-A3 (Detatchable carry handle) with a 4x32 ACOG (Big Saint knows his scopes) (Advanced Combat Optical Gunsight) scope. Its a . 223 (556mm). M16-A2's and A3's fire either semi auto, or 3 shot burst. We no longer use the M16-A1 (except for a few leftovers). They also had a full auto mode. But firing full auto is very innaccurate and wastes ammo. As for power, think of it as a high power . 22 Not much kick, but it does the job.

Normally i carry the M240G which is the US militarys replacement to the M60. 7. 62, belt fed. A SERIOUS piece of machinery.

I am not a SEAL, i am a Seabee. We work with the Marines as our main unit.

Way back when, in 1982 @ Parris Island, we had a 'old timer', probably all of 22 or so, in our recruit platoon. Real good guy, wish I could remember his name, anyhow, he had just finished his TDY with the Seabee's and decided to try out the Corps. He had one of those 'Bumble Bee' tatoos, said that was common for you guys, I thought it was pretty cool and he was real proud of the tour he served with you guys. I have no idea what this has to do with Local and Regional Events, guess I'm rambling.

I can't believe y'all haven't thought of this- get your CO to have the drill AT the TDR meet! DUH! That way, EVERYBODY has a great time! Semper Fi! :)

You know what they say, don'tcha?

When things are so bad, nobody else dares go... They send in the Marines, who get welcomed by the Seabees.

:D :D

Yep, that's the one, been along time since I've seen it, just gave me flash backs to P. I. , as does the smell of Skin So Soft, lol, thanks for the memories :D

As a unit First Sergeant, Make the drill. I am on the events committee in our club and I intentionally schedule club events away from my drills.

We all serve the same flag. Train safely!

Hey EMDDIESEL, isn't that your trigger finger in the trigger guard while (just) obtaining target acquistion or spotting?:eek: BTW, one time during a training seminar I touched off a 3" Remington Magnum rifled slug from my Benelli M1 Super 90 with the butt off my shoulder (not as far off as you have your M16), I had a black and purple spot to remember it by for AT LEAST a week. It hurt like he!! (I was just wearing a T-shirt) but I wasn't about to tell my training instructor (Massad Ayoob at that particular time), as he loved razzing me about the testosterone thing..... suffice it to say, long story.

Magnums rule! :D

A friend of mine has a Trijicon ACOG scope (like the one you are using) on his AR-15. Sweet!

PS: Duty before pleasure (however, if you can change your duty date without any adverse effects, go for it). :)
