I am ready to purchase a bypass oil filter system for my 05. I am looking for something easy to install and works fairly good. I plan on changing my oil on my regular interval. I just would like to filter the oil a little better than stock due to my mods. .

thanks Tdr

If you're going to waste oil like that, go for the "Frantz" Toilet Paper Filter. It does a decent job of filtering, and you change the element about as often as you are going to change your oil!

If you want to "extend " your oil drain ntervals beyond 10,000 miles, without adding oil or changeing elements as often, get a good Amsoil BMK-11 system.

What would the bmk-11 system run?

Or you could run a Baldwin B164 filter and head for around $40... they aren't "great" but they are still better than the fullflow filter. Spin on elements and easy to get almost everywhere. IIRC, these are the larger versions of the Baldwin B50... and good to around 5 micron. And these cross to either a Fleetguard LF777 or LF778... I can't remember for sure right now...

And you can run whatever oil you want with YOUR bypass... you don't need to run Amsoil oil with an Amsoil filter... I'm running dino Rotella with my Amsoil filter...

Just run a stratopore and any of the dino , name brand oils and save your money. Your mods will kill your engine years before the filtration will. I am assumming you are in the high 500 low 600 range with the mods listed.

The extreme cylinder pressures and heat will have you ready for rebuild long before the difference between 8 micron and 2 micron filtration will ever be seen.

I'm going to posit that flattracker is spot-on in your situation.

If you're not going to extend your oil change intervals, conventional or synthetic, there's probably no real economic value in bypass filtration, and certainly not unless you filter to the 1 micron level. For your particular setup, a severe service oil change probably makes sense. For me, it's a complete waste of even conventional oil.
