Any Fords running bio

Bio Diesel Idea

Absolutely love it. Truck runs better on B100 than it does on #2. Quieter, smoother, feels stronger ( higher cetane which is like octane to gassers ) and the exhaust smells better. Not to mention the added lubricity ( almost twice that of #2 ) which keeps the VP44 happy.

I do not know what the price is. I called and left a message regarding B-100 and price. If they respond, I will post it.

I think bio is great! I ran one tank on b20 last summer when a local truck stop outside of town carried it, but now they don't carry it anymore. :{ The truck had more pep and ran quieter and smoother.

Do you need to do anything to the truck to prepare it to run biodiesel? Or is it just "plug and play" with #2 diesel fuel?

from what I understand just fill up and go but after 2 tank fulls change the fuel filter.

bio diesel will clean the fuel system

but after that you should be fine

the engine will run cleaner and last longer the oil wil not get dark as fast

the vp44 will love it

but don't take my word for it read all you can on bio diesel

thanks

and god bless

I don't see why not unless some one knows something I don't

I look at it like this it's cleaner to burn it makes your engine last longerand i thank it's cheaper than diesel fuel now from what others have told me

it would be neat to have some one post what there are getting for a gal

I have been using biodiesel in the farm for over 10 years and have not had a bit of problems. During the winter I use 10% soydiesel with an antigel and water additive and get along great. I started out at 2% blend and currently using a 10% blend road diesel in the semi and the Dodge and 10% blend ag diesel in the farm tractors. As soon as I can, I am going to 20% blend.

I am guessing that you do not have any storage space available, like a 500 gallon fuel barrel. If you did, you may convince your local fuel supplier to get some soy oil in and blend that much for you. They have to be a licensed blender and they can order a 55 gallon barrel in and mix it for you. Too bad you are not in my area, I grow corn and soybeans and can just about throw a rock in any direction and hit a soydiesel or an ethanol plant. Your only other chance is to talk to the truck stops in your area and see if they plan on selling soydiesel in the near future. I am going to do some more research for you and see what I can come up with.

Been using B 20 for about a year and I like it. If you start using Bio keep an eye on your FF. Some report a detergent effect. I change my FF every 10,000 and have had no problems. One huge benefit of Bio as I see it is the increased lubricity. Locally Bio is the same price as #2, 2. 79.

Biodiesel

I just started using biodiesel a few weeks ago. I blended B99 with #2 at 5 per-cent. I noticed a 1 mpg increase in mileage right away. I just filled up my 94 this morning and saw the same result on the second tankful.

It is a bit early to conclude that an actual long-term mileage increase has occurred but it is interesting.

This is a real surprise to me. I did not expect a mileage increase. Has anyone else experienced this with biodiesel?

I have been using the B20 bio-diesel for a couple months now and I really like the way my truck performs, seems a lot smoother and quieter. So far B20 is all that is available close to me and thats about 20 miles from where I live. I have not seen any mileage loss using the B20, if anything a slight gain. One guy at my work has been trying it in his 04 Duramax and was claiming he's lost mileage using it.
