Firearm confiscation begins in Illinois

Throw the UN out, NOW, before it is too late......

The pictures are out on Harley-Davidson's new bike. It's a water cooled,115 HP 60 degree twin.

I think I will keep the old Electra Glide.

What do the rest of You think?

Put a dress on a pig, and it's still a pig. Sorry guys, just not a Harley fan. I admire the GP bikes for beauty, but would rather go cruising on an a 1968 BMW 600S. Not big power or big brakes... but to me... . elegant!

New ?Harley?

Bill, that's the new one allright... ...

All local dealers are denying having any pricing info.

May be interesting to ride, might try to get one to BOMB if the price ain't too high( Yeah, right:rolleyes: ) This is the motor Harley and Porsche have been working on for a few years.

... ... ... ... ... ..... I'll keep the ones I have... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...

Sorry, I know they need to catch up un the HP wars and air-cooled is by design not tight enough to compete with the h2o cooled japs and euro-pee-ons but that thing looks like they put a suzuki motor in my buell only uglier!!! Real bikes don't have radiators!!! IMHO

As with the 02 Rams--Mfg. shouldn't fix what ain't broke!!!

I agree that they had to do something for those people that want hp. They also needed something for the track. For me I'll keep my FLHTC I still love it.

I think I'll keep my 1977 FLH Electra Glide Classic, 1977 XLCR 1000 Cafe Racer, and 1979 XLS 1000 Sporty... ... ... . THANK YOU :D :D :D

Uh-oh, I'm might get flamed for this... ... ... ... .

Japanese bikes have performance, efficiency, and reliability.

European bike have engineering, class, and smoothness.

Harleys have style, sound, and character.

I appreciate all three, I do.

Harley has tried to do more than it is capable of with this bike. And I feel they've sacrificed... ... ... ... style, sound, and character.

Joe

PS I drive an American-made Honda VTX1800 and love it.

2002 VFSCA

Harley has been dodging the EPA noise and emmissions restrictions for the past few years.

The bikes are running so lean that reliability / performance has suffered.

The must be a vision of the "future" of H-D to come.

H-D and Porsche have been developing this new motor for a couple of years.

I think I'll keep my air-cooled bikes for quite a while.

Go to www.harley-davidson.com and check out the sound byte of the new motor... ..... close your eyes... ... ... sounds like "rice" to me:rolleyes:

Hey Ed - Sounds like rice, eh?

My VTX is a great bike, but boy it sounds horrible. Our term is that the bike sounds constipated. Too many cc's through two tiny tubes!!

No after-market pipes available yet, but we're waiting.

Shiny side up, Joe

Hey Papa Joe,

The VTX IS one sweet lookin' bike... .

Give the aftermarket a little time, they'll have some good pipes on the market to "open it up" a little and let the sound come out.

 Maybe a 5" stainless with stacks:rolleyes:

Keep your knees in the breeze:D

VTX

I must agree 100% with Shovelhead, It's a great looker, except for the exhaust. I would take an educated guess that Vance & Hines are not standing idly by on this one, along with other manufacturers.

As an avid 20 plius year Harley rider, I may get flamed for this, but, I actually like the VTX better than the NEW Harley. I would like to see a VTX with Drag pipes os similar.

I have had air cooled bikes and I have have a water cooled bike now. You could not give me a air cooled bike again. All I can say it is about time Harley woke up to the real world.

Looks like a take off on the VR1000. I figured that it would show up on the streets one day. After 8-9 yrs. they got it to the point that they can finish a race:rolleyes: It's the way to make big horsepower, but the 45 degree air cooled motor aint done yet. I couldn't understand why they didn't go to over head cams 3 yrs. ago when they came out with their "new" motor. Oh well 1 step back 4 leaps foreward:(
