Im seriously considering pulling the trigger on one of these, would like to get input from folks that are running one. Thanks.

Got mine !

Have had it for about four months. Very satisfied with the unit, and the user friendliness. Changing alarm limits and brightness are easy, and the response to parameter changes seems instantaneous, no lag in info. presentation. Be sure to order the five volt sensor driver module when/if you order. Install took about 1. 5 hours with the egt probe at post turbo. No line of sight intrusion to speak of, either.

The X Monitor is a BD product advertised in the new TDR Geno;s catalog. It is a fluorescent dot display of EGT, boost, transmission temp or fuel pressure. It displays all three parameters on one line, mounts low on the "A" pillar, and has setable alarm levels and brightness.

Im going to go pre turbo on the pyro so I imagine it will take a little longer for me to install. Did you try to hook it up on something that dims to see if you could match up in brightness or is that possible? How would you rate the fit and how it matches up in the interior? I would like something that blends right in.

krabman, I saw the x monitor set up last time I was down at Rip's.

Its a very high quality product and its components are very high quality.

If you need help tappin the exhaust manifold, you know where to go ;)

It cant be anymore nerve racking than drilling the hole in the roof for the Sirius :) I think I have myself convinced. Its almost double the cost of a 3 gauge pillar setup but I just dont like the in your face feeling I get from that. Of course I have been waiting for an opportunity to tell my wife I have to buy now because its on sale. Thats what she always tells me.

The five volt power supply provides all the power to the monitor. You can adjust the brightness at the display, as I said, to four levels. There is no other power source required. The readout(monitor) is very attractive, but it does sit at a slight angle, downhill, from left to right. No other fit or finish problem. I just really like the lack of time delay and interpolation of the numbers displayed. You don't have to stare at the thing to figure out what it says.

Ok ya sold me. I called up and learned I would be thwarted for a week till they get the first 03 units with the fuel pressure.

X-monitor, new tech displays

This sounds like what I've been looking around for. I dont particularly care to install a guage pod (the "in your face" issue), and would prefer to have a smaller digital display that could just have an alarm for certain EGT's, etc. I looked at the Cummins site and they have software/hardware for Palm systems that plug right into the vehicle wiring harness, but it doesnt appear that they have code yet for displaying/recording anything other than what the stock computer currently measures. I'm sure it wont be long - the palm systems can be used just like a PC, and hopefully the prices will get competetive with standard guages.....

Software/palm options

I am also considering the pruchase of gauges (egt/boost/fp) and this is one of the systems under considerations. However, If I could get the measurements in a portable/removable form using a laptop or a palm product which would provide other uses, ie. troubleshooting and diagnostics, I would be most interested.

Does anyone know if these functions have been made available in previous years? If so, where could I go to reasearch?

Thank You

That would be the configuration I would purchase. Mind sharin' what they are asking for that and if it is on sale?

Thanks

Im getting a break because I went to their dyno days. They were offering lower prices on everything that they said would be honored for 3 months. I believe you had to attend to get the price cut, not sure on that. Regular price is 639 for the unit with fuel pressure. Thats a couple hundred more than the other units and I have no idea why adding fuel pressure is worth the extra. I got them to set one aside for me and Im going to pick it up Friday. If you want I can post my impressions after I get it in.

Yes, posting your impressions would be helpful.

thank you

I also researched the cummins stuff. The version of the software that would be compatable with my operating system is not yet out, and still have not found the specs for what it covers specifically, only "known issues". So I will probably put that on hold for a while.

Saw a unit in a PSD and it was very nice. To me it all comes down to digital or analog. I happen to like my 3 analog gauges in the dash mounted Pod but I would probably go digital if I had to use the pillar. Alarms would be nice especially if the you could have them de-fuel the engine.

Also, I can probably replace a dead analog gauge one at a time which may make it more servicable in the long run.

Got it installed. IMO it looks good. The texture does not match the texture on the pillar but other than that it blends into the truck very well. It is angled to point at the driver and the lighting is bright enough to be seen in bright daylight at the highest of the four settings. I would have to say Im pleased with everything but the price.
