I know all aout the MAD ecm for 2nd gens but know nothing about 3's boxes. I am definetly going to be getting the Smarty but I need something soon. This truck isnt going to be all about HP like my last one. I had a Drag comp box on my old truck and loved it(100% trouble free)

Anyways what kind of boxed will work well w/ a smarty. I'd hate to waste my money on something that wont have any advantages over just the smarty when it comes out. I already have analog gauges so the juice is out since its a waste of money w/o attidude. TST seems way to complicated for my needs and unreliable.

Will the Smarty increase HP and TQ on a 2003 like the M. A. D ecm did for 2nd gens.

Thanks

Well, there's nothing unreliable about the TST PMCR, and the only complicated thing about it is the install, which isn't that bad either. If you lean on the motor cold with the box turned up you may get some codes, but that's it.

I would only get timing/duration boxes to go with the Smarty, at least until some people figure out exactly what the Smarty is doing. You don't want to stack two pressure boxes. Not good for the injectors or rail relief valve.

Your choices will be the TST, the Van Aaken C3. 2, the BD X-Power, and I think that's it. The Juice with Attitude will do some pressure on the '03-'04 trucks, so that one's out of the question.

I have a Bully Dog downloader stacked with my TST and Ramifier (pressure). I prefer to use the TST most of the time, or if I need more bottom end I use the Bully Dog on the tow setting. I only use the Ramifier sparingly. I don't want to spend $400 on a relief valve.

Not exactly sure what the Smarty does, but you might want to look into the Bully Dog Triple Dog with the Crazy Larry Setting.

I'm running the Quadzilla Xzillaraider race version on my 03. Has three settings 60, 90, 140, controlled by a knob mounted in the cab. Plugs into the map sensor, rail pressure sensor and data port connector under the hood. I haven't dyno'd in all power levels, but my truck stock was 262 hp and with Quad on highest was 401 hp. I use it in conjunction with a Bully Dog Outlook monitor to read EGTs and defuel when hauling my camper. It does do timing, so it might not be compatible with the Smarty. I am getting ready to go with a different box, so I am willing to make a good deal on the Quad. Can also deal on the Outlook along with the Pup downloader I have. These are all for an 03, 305/555.
