what does iota(sp) mean???

here, i'll use it in a sentence;



"youre not getting one iota of this"



honest to God, someone used that word the other day and i just looked at them like a puppy dog with my head cocked sideways and asked him "what is an iota" he didnt know



I try not to use words i dont know the meaning to.
