A quiet motor doesn't bother. But quiet exhaust pipes do.

Loud pipes saves lives.

I hate to be bearer of bad news guys, but in the 03 manual it says any mod to the exhaust system will void the warranty. I think its got something to do with noise polution. Thats no BS either.

well, you don't have to modify the exhaust system, you can just "tune" it like all them ricers do. how about straight piping it with the factory muffler. remove it, cut out an access hatch in the top of it, gut the interior and install a piece of flex pipe. maybe pack the rest of the empty space with stainless steel wool or high heat fiberglass. then re install the access hatch [maybe weld it all back up, grind the weld down, and spary over with flat black paint] straight piped that is invisable to the eye...

My 2001. 5 has a sticker that says that too.

I missed the part about the warranty, but my owners manual did say that it was a violation of federal law to alter any part oof the INTAKE or EXHAUST system.
