I have an 06 with a stage 3 Predator module and I was just wondering if anyone has any idea which code it's throwing. The check engine light only comes on when I take a long trip, like to my grandma's which is about 300 miles away. It goes away after a couple days but I just wanted to see if anyone had a clue so I don't have to go to the dealer. I guess you can't check the code yourself on the 06's.

Thanks a lot

Turning the key on and off 3 times in rapid succession should bring up the fault code on your odometer. If it doesn't work the first few times you try it, you're probably just not doing it quickly enough. You don't want to start the truck, just turn it to the on position and then quickly back to off and repeat 3 times. You'll eventually get it to bring up the code.

Yeah you can go outside key in ignition, turn key to on position and back to off position 3 times and leaving it in the ON position the 3rd time(but do not start it) and you will get a bunch of dashes on the odometer and it will scan through the codes and display them... . then it will flash the word done when its done

Be sure to have paper and pen handy as they flash quickly... . Then come back and let know what ones you have

Also it doesn't seem to affect performance or anything. I don't notice anything different from normal.

the 2006 manual says p0148 is high pressure common rail checksum possible causes are

fuel leaks

fuel control actuator

fuel pressure sensor

cascade overflow valve

check valve damaged or blocked

fuel return lines obstruction, damaged or debris

lift pump flow

air in fuel system

leaking fuel injectors or high pressure connectors

pressure limiting valve

high pressure fuel pump

intermittent condition

hope this helps you

also says other dtc's could be present
