Ok, just got the rules for the local truck and tractor pull. I am going to try and run in the stock class. As you can see in my sig, I should be able to get away with it. But is there anything else that I can do or sneak in and still be "stock"? I was thinking maybe some ddp stage 4's but the egt's would break my guage.

Your studded and o-ringed, so I would say run more timing for sure... especially with the 4k springs(I'm no sledpuller though). I would play with timing over 20* and cranking your gov springs.

I cranked the springs down a few more clicks and it idles at 900, I dont think that I want to go anymore on that. I talked to a few people tonite and they said if you can drive it on the street, its in the stock class... So I was thinking maybe a bigger turbo and just painting it black. What would the advanced timing do for me?
 
as you said it yourself, if you can still drive it on the street, run the street stock class. you just have to forget about the word stock, cuz probably no one you are going to pull with is stock.



so id say big sticks and big turbo, and i think someone said 5 speed, you will want a DD clutch



just remember power is addictive :-laf
 
yeah I gotta be pretty easy on the OFE, I am just doing this once this year for fun, but then it will turn into every weekend probably. So I am sure that a DD is coming soon. I was gonna pull in low 3rd.
