What engine?????

I have a 3 cylinder "Made in Japan" motor with a throttle body and a clutch on it. I need some repair info for my students to do the clutch in the shop and need to know what car it came out of. Please help me!!! There are no other external markings to indicate Toyota, Honda, etc. Google turns up a crap load of useless info. I trieds the '88 Subaru Justy but the pics on all data show a big "SUBARU" on the valve cover.

Any thoughts?

It also has just 2 valves per cylinder.

I think you found it. The metro was the one I knew about. A friend had one, it didn't burn much fuel, but didn't get any where in a hurry either.

the Metro is the only 3 cyl I've ever worked on... other than snowmobiles!

Are you positive its a car engine? I have a yarmar 3 cylinder in a tractor. There are many 3 cylinder tractors. Just a thought. Good Luck

Yeah, tractors use tiny three cylinder diesels built by Kubota or Yanmar, probably some communist Chinese brands slipping into the mix as well.
