:( My auto transmission is shifting very poorly, and I'm thinking that it's the valve body. The trans was rebuilt about 9800 miles ago and they put in a shift kit supposedly.

In a nut shell, when it shifts it seems to kind of bounce into gear and when it shifts from 2 to 3 it does it very fast and then doesn't go into overdrive until about 55 mph. When speed drops under 50 it drops back to 3rd and out of lock up so rpms are high. I'm going to go to a trans shop to have it fixed, but would like to be more educated on the subject.

I can't go back to the shop that did the rebuild, cause I bought the truck in Texas and the warranty didn't transfer.

Thanks for any responses.

Bob,

I am planning to. After I bought the truck with the rebuild in it that I had no warrantee on; I went to ATS and I had them install a new TC and VB. and I've been back to them once to complain that maybe they forgot to exchange out my old VB when they did the work. They just looked it over and said that they did, and it was fine. It seems to be shifting worse now ---- so I will go back to them again. Problem is how do I know if they did exchange the old VB out for their new one? Power to the ground is better thanks to the TC, but shifting is poor and exactly like it was before they replaced the TC and VB.

Sorry:( if this is confusing, but I would like to know more about what the VB does, so when I go back to them and complain I'll know what I'm talking about. My understanding is that the VB improves shifting and that's about it. Well, if I did get a ATS VB, it sure didn't do anything, cause it shifts the same as before I had them do any work on it.

Just for futher clarification Eagle transmissions in Texas did the rebuild. I've talked to them several times about it. I'm about 900 miles from them, plus they will not warent the trans to a new owner. That's why I went to ATS.

Thanks,

Lowell
