Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) what exactly does the fuel pump relay in Power Distribution Center in 97 CTD?

Guys,

wwwwould anybody be able to tell me for what purposes is the relay marked Fuel pump in PDC. My truck is a 12 valve 97 CTD.

Just curious,I took it out,the truck still runs,with or without it

They probibally use the same PDC for the gassers. Probibally for the gas model.
