I'm looking for a cat back system, or a downpipe back system. 5" preferably. i know that Bully Dog makes a system, I just want to know what other options are out there.
 
what kind of sound are you looking for? if you want it loud, I'd straight pipe the stock system and run a 5-6" tip out back... it'll resonate a lot less than a full 5" system and cost a lot less.

BD makes a nice bolt on 5 inch system or just replace muffler with straight pipe or muffler and resonator like a aeroturbine to keep your truck from having drone
 
the problem is that with my EDGE box on my EGT's are too high. I have the entire AFE intake system sitting on the floor, I just need to put it on. I'm just looking for a way to move some more of this hot exhaust out of the truck and I was thinking 5" system would be the way to go. If you guys think that all I need is a test pipe to replace the cat, and a muffler straight pipe, then that is the way I can go as well. I just want to make sure that 4" straight piped will be enough exhaust.
 
Based on what the 'hotrod' guys here at the forum seem to say... 5" is just not necessary unless you are running BIG HP nubers... if memory serves over 500 RWHP.



DO the AFE, get rid of the cat and either loose the muffler OR put in a better flowing one. You already have the 4" system everywhere else as you know... I'm betting this will help EGT's quite a bit.



I'm having my 'shorty mufflerless' setup installed today I got from Rip Rook... this is on an '04 305/555 so I k now your 600 would be a little different. But I'm a wuss (afraid of my wife) and using an MBRP muffler with it (had it lying around).

register with them and check out the $ on the 4" and 5" exhaust, very cheap and nice stuff. u used to have the 5" on my truck before i went to stacks and my neighbor has the 4" kit on his 3rd gen.
 
I just viewed the video on the MBRP dual system and am sold on the sound alone. What's the difference between the XP and Pro series?
 
Just curious, I thought that a cat back system was from the catalyst on back. From the looks of your exhaust systems they seem to be a complete exhaust change out. Do you know what laws are in place in Texas that would prevent me from removing my Catalyst Converter?
 
It is against federal law to tamper with the emission controls on any vehicle. That said, it's doubtful any police officer would ever know your Diesel had a cat, that is supposing you dont have inspections where you live.
 
Called them today and they advised that the Cummins 600 system is only a cat back system. Still debating on the 304 or the 409. Pricing for the 409 seems a little on the high side.
 
Cajun4x4 (or anybody else) if you end up replacing your exhaust I would be interested in the tail pipe if you can get it off without destroying it. I need one off of a 2004. 5 or 2005.
