Any Auto guys want my HX-35W/12cm?

I liked the post about which gauge to add after boost and EGT. The consensus favored fuel pressure for the 24 valve drivers (like me). I have reached the same conclusion, but I didn't realize how strongly it was recommended.

I intend to buy two SPA dual gauges. This will give me one more sensor. What additional parameter should I be monitoring?

I thought that fuel temperature might be nice to know, especially if it's really cold and gelling might be a problem. Fuel temperature is just nice-to-know stuff though. Is there something else that's more critical? These gauges are going on the 2000 year truck listed in the signature. About 15 percent of my miles are pulling a trailer.

Opinions, anyone?

I have a SPA dg-111 EGT/BOOST and am looking at two more gauges in the long run. They do not seem to make the combos I want. I want 2 fp, water temp, oil pressure. For some reason they don't make pressure/pressure combos of any kind. If adding just one and with fp as half of it, I would get the dg 202 fp/wt.

I do not like how inaccurate the oil pressure and water temp factory gauges are. I found the water temp gauge was all over the place when towing at altitude in the heat of the summer. With a dual bypass set up and 5w30 oil my oil pressure also fluctuates with temp and rpm.

If they made it I would suggest a FP/FP gauge to do pre and post filter but they don't:rolleyes:

With your towing, an FP/oil temp gauge might be a good call. You could use the oil temp for transmission if you have an auto or rear end temp. If you have an auto that is the most important component for you to monitor.

My $2 ( that was to mcuh for be called cents;) )

Well I am waiting for some more Mark2 SPA's to be made but I got the 211. I am waiting for the pressure/temp one, only I will have 2 of them. They will monitor pre/post filter and auto transmission temp, and oil temp.

That's what I'm doing, your your own man.

SWITCHES.

Yep, run all your oil temps to one guage with switches to check them all.

Lets see.

Thanks for the input. I like the idea of monitoring the pressure loss across the fuel filter (pre- and post- filter pressure). I also like the idea of getting more for my money by switching the temperature or pressure gauge to various sensors. I'll try to do both.
