Some people have used fuel additives since day one. Others have used them occassionally. With the new ULSD fuels hitting the market the discussion regarding additives has heated up again. Which additive do you use?

Stanadyne Performance formula. I haven't noticed any difference in anything but I feel better by putting it in my tank.

It depends on what your using it for. Lubricity, anti-gel, cetane boost, injector cleaning. ?!

Anyone have a special container to use when adding to fuel tank I am looking for a graduated type bottle with a long neck for easy pouring into tank filller

Thanks, Bill

I am using an empty quart-size oil container of the flat rectangular shape. It fits perfectly in the left rear door pocket by the fuel door. It works very good with no spillage.

Running a mix of Lucus and and PowerService-have run it since it was new-only got 1500 Miles on the truck- ave mpg 19. 5 hand calculated

I used to use Howe's Meaner Power Cleaner. I had a couple of episodes of rough running that PS cleared right up, so I switched.

Now I'm running a PS/MMO mix. So far, I'm happy with that.

As for containers to put additive in, I like the MMO bottles. They have a nice long neck that works well.

Because I'm running the Rokktech sensor, I can't run anything that increases cetane (timing ping). I found that Howe's doesn't increase cetane like PS (which I ran for a long time), so I run way more than the recommended dose in every tank (I don't measure, just dump about 1/4 bottle per 25-gallon fillup)...

To date I have had no issues with timing advance and running Howe's...

I ran PS through my 99 almost exclusively with a couple runs of Lucas, and both worked equally well...

IF Im on the road, I usually carry one or two bottles of PS in my tool box.

Fuel up before leaving with PS/MMO and use PS white bottle on the road.

Have you tried an additive that increases cetane since adding the Rokktech mod? Higher, not lower, cetane will help rattle or "ping," and by adding it you're not going to make a significant impact on "timing. " It'll smooth combustion and help economy & power a skosh. I had the Bully Box on my '03 which advanced timing & increased the tinny rattle. Putting in cetane boost helped reduce the rattle.

I use 4oz. each 2 stroke ashless injection oil and Howe's Meaner Kleener. When it gets colder than 0F I throw in some white bottle PS on top of it all.
