If you put on a bigger turbo, EDM 2. 4's, 4" exhaust, AFE and a VA Box - what fuel mileage (not towing) can one expect at say 70???? I'm wondering if mods like this will destroy your fuel mileage? Now I know the right foot can kill mileage - I'm just interested in real world experience in traveling and mileage on rigs like this?????

With the mods in my signature I got 17. 25 mpg going down and 18. 8 mpg coming back from a little trip last weekend. Best mpg ever was 20 even with milder mods. These are emtpy highway numbers of course. Day to day mpg is 16-17 range. It depends on how ya drive more than just the mods done I am guessing.

I have gotten 17-18 mpg empty since truck was stock. Never got the increases advertised by many vendors and other TDR members but never lost any either. That's with #2 diesel yr round, rural area-75% hwy, 70 mph on hwy and fairly heavy foot (can't seem to hold off playing with the HP between fill ups!). Have hit 20, one time, on long interstate trips; only time I could hold it below 65.

All mileages include 4% correction for 285 tires.

with the exception of the larger turbo I have what your looking at and my trip of 800 mile driving 75 was 19. 9 I have found the sweet spot is 68-70 mph so I was on the downward side. I am too mystified that bombs help/ make more effiecent trucks. I have hot rodded alot of things and they all went down for mpg when more power is made. Go figure!!!

Just do it!! And enjoy!!!!:--)
