I have a 07 6. 7 3500 srw, I am looking to add some gauges. . I was wondering what I should monitor? Definitely the pryo and possibly boost. Any thoughts on fuel, transmission, and or differential.

The three gauge A pillar mount and a pyro, boost, and transmission temp gauge set from Geno's are very useful to have. I have such a set on my Ram.

Installation of a Mag-Hytec or competitive differential cover that adds fluid capacity and aluminum fins to eliminate heat would, IMO, be a better investment than a differential temp gauge. Stated another way, knowing the differential lube is hot doesn't help much but additional cooling to prevent it becoming hot does. I also have a Mag-Hytec cover on my truck.

Regardless of the hundreds or thousands of posts I have read to the contrary in the TDR forums I have never found any need for a fuel pressure gauge and have never used one. Have never experienced a lift/transfer pump failure.

I too am wondering about gauges for my 6. 7L. I installed gauges on my 2001 and everything had to have a hard wired sending unit. The newer trucks have all the usual parameters available via the ECM? I see Edge has a system but its more than I'd like to spend. Any alternatives to manually installing my own or spending a grand? I'm not looking to increase horsepower... at least not right now.

I too like Harvey have the same set of gauges installed. I am very pleased with this arrangement and I watch the boost and EGT's very closely when towing.

I have found the need to down shift when towing in the mountains with my 5er. Do to the EGT's being too high and what not have known this, if I did not have a gage to check the boost and EGT's. The transmission stays at a stead 180F with the Mag-Hytec pan. Probe for the transmission temperature is in the pan.
