I was reading shop manual, and they show line pressure adjustment for 47RE transmissions.

Will this increase pressure to TC and help transmission oversome the lack of pressure due to little throttle movement.

Manual says it can be increased of approx 1. 6 psi every turn.

What happens if I try to increase approx 2 turns (3. 3psi)

you can turn it 6 turns in. About will be the best. On a stock VB you won't see much good. What are you trying to accomplish? need to know that first. If the question is can you hurt anything on a stock VB by turning it in, the answer is no, on a modified VB then you can go to far and start blowing seals and such, cross leaks, etc.

Red. B instruction says to turn counterclockwise to raise pressure, which means turns are out, not in.

I am just try to see if I can give a little extra pressure to my converter...

In few words I don't know what I am doing, just messing around and questioning if I am not doing too much damage to an already damaged transmission.

JR2 yes I know Bill K from DTT, he has some good articles.

it could help slightly, but to get more pressure you need to open the feed and exhaust holes. The easiest way, is to get a transgo kit and follow instructions. With that said, THIS IS NOT WHAT I WOULD DOOO! Save yourself time, trouble, and a lot of foul words. The kits, and raising line pressure on a 99 47 re, doesn't do well with the PCM. If you don't have over 150 k on the odometer, then just throw a triple disk convertor in and be done with it. I like Georand Bros. because of the price, customer service, and lifetime warrenty. But any Triple disk will do. The transmission should be fine. Your weak link is the convertor, so fix your weak link. Added pressure will sometimes throw monkey wrenches at the problem. One more thing to turn line pressure up you need to grind the allen head down and you can get to the screw without dropping the V/B. Good luck! There are alot of good products on the TDR that can get your problem fixed.

I can't commen on the TransGo and similar kits as I have never run one in my truck. I did however turn up the line pressure in my stock valve body. This was done with the help of Bill K at DTT over the phone. On his day off no less.

Anyway, the first step was to put a pressure gauge on the truck and give him all the info first. I was close to what Bill considered the maximum pressure in stock trim, but said I could go 3 turns. Anymore and I risked much bigger problems than a little shudder.

This helped me limp the truck along until I could have the transmission done. I stress, this was just a band-aid at best.

Do what you think is right.

That's exactly what I am trying to accomplish, getting a little extra life from an already tired transmission, and buy me some more time.

My main concern is not to damage anything more than it already is.

Thanks

Best advice I can give, call Bill at DTT and ask his opinion. I am sure that the other transmission guys can give you advice as well, but I really trust Bill.
