In the last two weeks it has started to drive like a truck! A little history is in order here, We bought it in Sept 2015 and flew to Colorado to drive it home, many might remember my post of the great adventure of 1350 miles in 48 hours with two motel receipts. Basically it has been my main ride for almost 5 years, as I hated driving my DW's 2004 Buick Rainier. Something happen to the RAM in the last two weeks, it all of sudden rides like a brick truck, even with the rear tires down to low 40s for psi. I went to Lowes yesterday to get a couple boards and some screws. Coming out of the drive-through lumber area the Sat radio was dead?? What is going on??? Maybe Sirus/XM dropped the truck off the account instead of the Buick? Nope, even channel one the Preview channel was dead. Turn it off and restart, still head.

Is the RAM pissed at me? So when I get home I go to wife's car and Sat radio is working fine, scratch head! Well the motor is all warmed up, so I change the oil and filter(from the top BTW) and have the motor idling while logging the oil change in the owners manual, and I notice the sat radio is working! Hey, a little love helps maybe? Also noticed the the air cleaner was dirty and I was a little past time/miles for a new one and the need to vacuum out all the dead bees in the bottom of the air box. Promised the truck right there in the drivers seat that I would get on the internet and order one. Still scratching my head as to why the ride has gone down so much in just two weeks?

Well I think just maybe I figured it out. See the Rainier was total in a T-Bone on June 20th and on June 22nd we bought a new SUV to replace it, and I really like driving it. I even changed the wallpaper on my smart phone from a Honda NSX dream car to the new SUV. The ST in the grill stands for "Sports Tuned" which includes the suspension(has a pretty firm ride) and what is under the hood. Which is a 2.7L twin turbo V6 with 335 HP and 380 lb ft of torque and 8 speed in a 2020 Edge. Note to RAM, I still love you, even it you are a TRUCK!

I’d guess your shocks have been shot for a while, you just didn’t realize it due to driving it every day. Sounds like your electrical problem journey is in its beginning stages.

Your butt was used to the RAM ride being the only vehicle you drove, now your spoiled with a cushy ride. I know from experience RAMS DO hold a grudge when feeling neglected. Keep up on the old girl, she will come back around. (just dont mention the Buick while your in the RAM)

Buick gone, insurance paid quickly. The new sports tuned Edge has a firm ride, however not brick truck like.

I do not think shot shocks cause a firm ride, it would be the opposite. The newer factory gas shocks do not have bad rap.

So, let me see f I have this straight... nothing wrong with the ride on your truck... your DW got a new ride that you're making humor on the comparison of the two rides?

You got it. The 2019 and 2020 Edge ST has a chassis tuned by the Ford Performance group coupled to a 335HP Ecoboost with 8 speed transmission. Ride is firm, however not as firm as a 3500 SRW RAM.

Time to trade the Ram in on a Ford.

I drove my buddys 2018 F250 6.7 Lariat this weekend and while it has good power I really didint see what the hype was about, still rode like a truck, the interior is not nearly as nice as a new Ram and just didint impress me like I thought it would hearing everyone talk about them.

Yeah that's my same impression. I sat in my brothers '17 F250 this weekend and still thought the seats were horrible compared to my Ram.

It was very much a tongue in cheek comment. I also don't feel GM or Ford's interior holds a candle to Ram. I've gotten nothing but praise from friends with both other makes about the ride quality of my truck, and I've got a Tradesman.

Ford does have parts availability and pricing head and shoulders above FCA. FCA sucks the hind teat in that department.

Ah, I know a lot of people who love the new Alumiduties and they are nice trucks I just expected to be blown away driving it and that didint happen, they are quiet and have a ton of power though, hard to keep the rear tires from braking loose just driving normally.

I have to be careful in the RAM on first rain days. I would hate it to be that way all the time when not loaded.

I imagine the insane 4.6:1 1st gear plays a role here
It does but even going 30mph and going to pass a slow car it still can start to chirp the tires, its not nearly as linear power as the Cummins but they sure are fun to drive unloaded!
