I was on the dodge web page when I noticed 10. 5 gear listed only and for 06 models have an extra charge for 6 speed trany. Was the change due to problems with the 11. 5 gear? I thought the 11. 5 gear was sought after for heavy duty truck fans.

That was because the early o3s also could be the NON H. O. with the 5 speed. Now its eaither a G56 6 speed or 48re period. Thats is since mid year 03.

The G56 didn't come around till mid 05 model year. There are alot of 05's with NV5600's. But that doesn't mean they don't charge 5K for the engine, 500 for a stick or 1500 for an auto. Thinking out loud . . .

I just checked out the Dodge website. The 11. 5" rear appears to be available only with the 3500. 10. 5" is the only axle for the 2500. At least according the website.

If that is true I better run out and pull that 11'5 cover off my diff on my truck :-laf

Well Bob be carfull, I rechecked web page, it shows 2500 10. 5 and 11. 5 for the 3500. What a disapointment for future buyers 2500 04. 5 4X4 NV5600 (HO 600)with 11. 5 ring gear

The base engine and axle for the 2500 are the Hemi and 10. 5" rear. It probably just doesn't reflect the changes for adding the CTD, as the 11. 5" rear is standard with the CTD on the 2500 and 3500, to my knowledge.

My 4. 5 2500 CTD has the 11. 5" axle. I really can't see Dodge going away from that.

Simply put, the Dodge website sucks, and has always had numerous errors. They just cannot seem to get it right, especially when it comes to CTD trucks.

Yea, what he said... .

That mistake has been around for a LONG time. That same question about diffs has been bounced around I bet for over a year or more.

Kinda like the new 06's are AT THE DEALERS but there was no info at all about them on the website last I checked. Been about 2-3 weeks. I don't think the site is worth a penny.

I ordered my truck in January and got it in March. I thought I was getting a 10. 5 but the build tag in the glove box says 11. 5. I thought it was part of the HD required for the CTD.

So where did my truck signature go?? What did I do wrong??
