I have the original BP2000s from Definitive Technology.

They may not be the best, but I would have had to spend 12K or better to get something that sounded better to my ears... I love the sound of them.

Imagine when I had my Denon AVR-5700 pushing them, fed by the DVD-5000:)

Yeah, I had more money than sense at the time...

Still have the speaks and DVD player. .

b&w 604s3's, lcr600, ds6's & lm1's are the speakers, 2x b&w asw300 and an old sound dynamics sw15 subs. denon avr 5700 reciever, toshiba sd9200 dvd... sony 61hs10 tv.

thats pretty much it [as well as a panamax power box] plus about 500 dvd's

The Paradigms were the other one I was considering. I went with the DefTech as I got a screaming deal on them (floor models, and they had just released the BP3000s, so these were no longer the big dogs).

Nick-- isn't that AVR 5700 AWESOME?

The thing I like about the DefTechs is how they sound for both music AND movies. They are direct enough to give good imaging, and reflect enough for decent surround.

I like the Bipolar sound, not everyone does.

I can't believe how many people still think of Bose speakers as "high end". No highs, no lows... .

Geeze, I'm getting to be an ol' geezer. I've never even heard of any of the brands mentioned above except Denon. :(

Have an ol set of faithful Bose.

Magneplanars for me... talk about a smooth response and super soundstage! Had mine for about 8 years now and wouldn't even dream of having anything else.

Two DT speakers. 150 amp powered sub per speaker

Cerwin suround speaker

Big Pioneer reciever.

Pioneer 100 c/d disc changer.

Monster cable

Monster base cable

Yep stuff does rattle off the tables!

I'd rather spend money on the home stuff. Expensive stereos in the vehicles only seam to get stolen.

Paradigm speakers, a JBL sub,an Onkyo 5. 1 reciver and Onkyo DVD player. Sounds extremely good for the money I have invested.

If i were to do it again, it would be a very heated battle between Paradigm and B&W for speakers, and Onkyo and Denon for a reciever and DVD player.

Two 12'' Cerwin Vega's-Technics SA-AX720 receiver-Technics 5 disc changer. I live in a 32' Travel Supreme triple slide 5th wheel. Best sounding system in the park!!LOL

A 20-year-old pair of Klipsch Heresies, that used to be powered by a big Yamaha power amp and preamp and tuner, with a Denon turntable and a Teac 888-R tapedeck. All this from the PX in Germany - I think I figured out that buying my stereo in the states back in 1985 would've cost me about $10,000 - another example of more money than sense but my stereo was very good for a very long time. We used to have stereo wars in the barracks - we all had very long Monster Cables hooked up and we'd wheel our speakers out in the hall, aim'm at each other, and crank it up until the walls started shaking. My roommate managed to melt a pair of Bose 901's - supposedly unkillable but he had smoke pouring out of them. No, none of this silliness did my hearing any good at all! :{
