I just installed an Airdog and bypassed the fuel filter housing. What problems arise if I remove the entire OEM fuel filter canister?

Mine has been off since I installed my FASS 2 years ago with out problem. Only things I did was 1) pulled the fuse to the fuel heater circuit and 2) covered the harness for the water in fuel light plug with plastic wrap/rubber band.

I removed the fuse so there was no short when the weather got cold and the circuit energized. I covered the heater plug because when I would run through the car wash, water got into the plug and caused the light to light up for about 15 mins. No problems since. No problems with the canister being removed from the block either.

Hope this helps

fuse and/or relay should be in the under the hood power distribution block that is near the driverside battery. There is a diagram under the cover that shows what fuse/relay controls what.

rip that thing off! and if you want take the pump bracket off and replace it with a standard s. b. or b. b. two bolt cheby fuel pump block off plate. cleans the side of the motor up.

Turbo Terry, I have been down to -15 to -20 with out a heater and I have never plugged my truck in. I have never had a cold weather fuel problem. I run 8 oz of Standyne performance and 8oz of MMO in each and every tank of fuel.

Just FYI.

What about Water in Fuel censor and dash light? If you got a bad tank of fuel, it's a good thing to have. It happened to me once, and I had to change FF on the spot.

why

Why take it off?? I ran mine right into the stock canister. I did however chance the lines and fittings from canister to injection pump. I have run it both ways and found no change in flow or pressure so why take it off.....
