I am going to upgrade my intercooler and was wondering what one to go with. I was going to go with the BD intercooler but just want to see what everyone thinks. I am going to be running the BD twin kit .

Just for your info , BD I/C`s are made by Griffin Rad. in Piedmont S. C. at least they were. story is that they called G/R every week to change something in the design,G/R said that they were not going to have to retool some parts every week,so I think they have parted ways. also I/C`s are like furniture-a really big mark-up. they sell for around 1200$ give or take, dealer prices somewhere around $600. 00,don`t ask me how I know!

I had a Spearco and CFM and they worked great together. I just wish I could have hit the dyno one more time after I installed them. I'm sure I got very close to 500 HP and 1100 ft lbs after they were installed. I noticed that if you don't do the CFM with the Spearco your not getting near the potential out of the intercooler that you should.

I've got a question about the operation of an intercooler. If cooler air is more dense and you get lower EGTs with the supossedly drop in temp from an aftermarket intercoolor then why don't you see a real drop let's say during a rain or in cooler weather. The water would certainly cool the cooler.

The more mods you have the more noticeable the cooler air. I have Griffin's in my '01. Both the Rad and the IC. On a cool day... 30's - 40's especially... the truck really livens up. Cool rainy days are fun too. If you are not noticing performance gains with cooler temps then you simply are not pushing enough fuel to the engine. In other words, you do not have the mods requiring the cooler air. However, your engine may not produce more noticeable power, but I can guarentee you the engine appreciates a cooler charge.

Agreed! Curious Dave!

I have a Hellman intercooler in my truck.

All these after market intercoolers are

bar and plate design. Buy the one you

can get the best deal on.
