What is a 3K GSK? Is it the same thing a s a #6 plate modification

for the fuel pump from TST? or is a seperate & different modification alltogether? Will it really degrade Auto transmission life? Can I (easily) modifie the trans. to surrvive longer & take the extra power?

96 Ram 2500 4X4 CTD, tough country shocks, urethane sway bar busshings, more to come... ...

Phil the Gov springs will not hurt any transmission as they make now power, what they will do is give you about 300-400 more useable rpm.

A #10 plate, 3K springs and a timing bump is about the best thing you can do to a stock auto, the #10 plate will still make plenty of power but it will do it later in the power band so it's not so hard on the transmission... ... I've done this combo before and really like it. If you call Piers he will tell you the same thing www.piersdiesel.com

Pgaither,

Welcome to the TDR. There is an absolute wealth of information here. Take the time to read, read & read some more, you will then become familiar with the language and what does what. Then ask questions if you still don't understand. There is also a search option which is pretty useful.

To answer your question - What is a 3K GSK, it is new govenor springs which allow the motor to rev higher before de-fueling. If your truck has the sock springs in it, you probably notice it de-fueling around 2500 rpm? The 3k gsk allows in to rev a little higher, better shift points, more power and faster acceleration in my case. Bottem line, it really woke up my truck.

Good luck.
