What is a good Getrag/clutch/pressure plate worth?

Thinking of selling my 120,000m Getrag and clutch while it still works good and maybe going to the Quad 4x4 NV4500HD conversion kit. Anybody know what it's worth? Before I start turning fuel screws and adding Lucas POD's, I should probably upgrade, no?

I saw the kit goes for $3000 w/ fully splined mainshaft or $2700 with stock shaft.

Kurt, on ebay, I think Ive seen rebuilt getrags go for about $1250. Core charge alone is $450-500. So its worth at least that. Bill

By the time you buy a good South Bend clutch you will spend $3000.

It's worth it... if you don't spend the $3000 you'll likely be spending almost that rebuilding your Getrag & replacing the clutch in the near future.

The question is, who buys Getrags?

I don't know that, but what I do know is that I would have to think a long time if/when the time comes for my getrag to bite it.

Not sure I could justify that kind of investment in my own mind.

Hope I never have to face that decision.

Can remember the days when I waz crawl'n under trucks, put'n in clutch components/rebuilding Eaton-Fuller Twin shafts.

Greenleaf. Did you ever do one of the small twin shaft trannys? A friend of mine has one that he said was behind a detroit in a single axle GMC. It is just like the big ones, just picked it green I guess. I have been eyeing that thing with the thought of mateing it to a 6bt cummins. He said that it was an overdrive. I know how to check of course but it is the only one I ever saw. I don't find any listing elsewhere on it. I'm guessing it was built in the 60s.

I'd say I would buy one. I was happy with mine before it went out, and at $950 for a complete overhaul, I'd do it all again. A good one with the clutch should be worth at least $1300 being its for a 4x4.
