Saturday I found my 3rd set of leaks in my intercooler, I patched the other two by cleaning the area around the tubes where they meet the tanks on the sides and put Titanium permatex epoxy over the leaks and it fixed them, but the 3rd one was just under the last one and I'm getting frusterated. Is this a common problem? They are pretty good leaks at a 10psi pressure test so I can emagine it at 45psi. Are stock intercoolers usually good or not, is mine just a piece of junk, built on a Monday? Who out there has fixed the problem and what was your solution?

Thanks so much,

Jared

Has anyone tried a Banks Techni-Cooler? I know Banks usually gets a bad rap on this site, but Gale Banks is a firm believer in making diesel power via condensed air. I like the idea of a bigger intercooler. Unlike bigger turbos and bigger injectors, I think there are zero tradeoffs with a bigger intercooler. If you have to replace it anyway, why not upgrade?

I think the City diesel is the cheaper of the two and it's $750 with my tanks as a core, looking for something alittle cheaper things are tight right now so looking for alternative sources. How much pressure should a factory cooler hold? Are they not an option in the 55psi< range?

Thanks Jared
