Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) What is a new NV5600 worth?

A friend wants to sell me his brand new in the crate NV5600. It is a 2002 4x4 model according to the serial #. Does anyone know what it is worth, or what I should offer him?

I've seen prices range from $1500-$2600. The lower end of that range were slightly used units... . and the high end of the scale were new(ish) units.....



It's a sweet transmission..... if this one is in the crate... it's worth top $$.

. . Best thing I ever did!!! I wish everyone would do it when their 5 speeds wear down, and keep losing the 5th gear!!! Mine came off a total of like 7 times, and I finally had enough, so instead of the Fully splined mainshaft, I just got rid of it, and got the big boy! Problem solved!
