Towing combined weight almost 28,000# horse trailer with living quarters. 9500 miles of towing loaded, all of that in the mountains of the North West. So far the lieOmeter says 11mpg. The hand check on that is about 10. 8 That is at least as good as my modded for milage 04 does.

So far, first tank 9. 96 MPG mostly towing, (<100 miles non towing on that tank). Second tank 1000 total miles, 600 towing on that tank, 11. 67 MPG. Truck is at 2800 miles so far. I have a Transfer Flow installed so I hold 130 gallons total. The truck is really getting alot smoother and I have learned to drive the Aisin much more smoothly so I'm still hoping for >12 MPG towing. Truck and trailer GCW is just shy of 23K lbs. Ken Irwin

16-18 Mpg around town unloaded. 21-23 Mpg Highway unloaded. 18-20 Mpg towing an empty 27' boat trailer 16-17 Mpg with a 22' fishing boat on trailer. It's used about 4. 5 gal of DEF in the 6075 miles that I now have on it. RAM got it right with this truck.

Here's my Fuelly, all pretty much unloaded. I also tend to note my average speed if you read the comments. I plan to note tanks that I tow on when I eventually get my rig in a year or two... one step at a time :)

14. 5mpg average in 6,000 miles with about 70% of that hooked to a trailer. 50% pulling 10k or more. That's according to the gallons used meter, not hand calculated. Very little in town driving.

I just finished a 4,000+ mile trip to Colorado and back with my modded 07. 5... I was fully loaded with fishing gear, food, coolers, etc. with my Leer fiberglass topper. Truly not a heavy load. But as aerodynamic as I could be. Ran 65-80mph. This is the very first long trip unloaded with 80k miles on the truck. My hand calc mileage averaged 20. 5 & 21 mpg. I absolutely will not get rid of this truck for a great while. The new trucks are great and have great capabilities but not now.

Looking at your signature, it says you have SpynTc hubs on your 13. I thought the 13's had front axle lock outs.

Only the 3500's did with the new frame and front suspension. The 2500's with the old 5-link suspension did not have the FAD feature- nor did a 5500 I recently looked at. For 2014, all pickups will have the FAD feature.

Who are your directing your question?

We just made a trip to our sons house in South Windsor, CT. We started out from Greenwood, IN & went to South Windsor, CT 845. 3 miles & filled up in S Windsor took 33. 2 gal. It figures out to 25. 46 MPG. Drove the speed limits in IN, OH, PA, NY & CT. . The overhead showed 26. 6 MPG. I have always gotten good mileage on my 02. Been a great truck!!!!
