Hello,

I am moving back to Washington here in a couple weeks. I have California truck. Is there any difference between a 49 state truck and a California truck other than ECM programming? Can I take a 49 state ECM and put it in my truck and make it run correctly? Reason I ask is I am ordering a CATCHER and never plan on coming back to California ever again.

Thanks

Derek

Most vehicles sold in Calif are the same as the 49 state units. Difference is 100+ dollar line item on sticker for Calif stating it passed smog cert for sale in the state. Might have a different sticker under the hood saying Cal certified. Not very common anymore to have differences between 49 state and Calif smog stuff. Happens , like 96-98 12v CTDs had an EGR and cat in Calif, when laws are changed quickly.

Fuel is 5. 69 per gal here... :{

From my experience the 02 truck's must have something else that's different not only the SW in the ECM. A fed ECM will not work in a CA truck! But that's not a biggie. I can tweak a CA software in way to get the same timing, fuelling, OBD, whatever else parameters as a fed truck. CA written on it but Fed in it... . :p

When you order the CaTCHER please make sure I know who you are and what you need!
