What is factory thermostat?

What is the factory thermostat on a 6. 7 2009. This truck seems to run colder then the three other 5. 9 diesels I owned.

The needle is in the middle of the first sweep hash and 200*, my 5. 9 trucks ran a little higher on the sweep and feel is subjective I guess but the 5. 9's seemed to feel warmer.

I know the thermostat is working because you can see it move up and down a little. Last summer it stayed on 200* all summer towing and non-towing. This fall I added a little anti-freeze (HOAT) to the over flow jug since it was low from factory but it stays at the same point since so there is no anti-freeze leak.

I would think with all this emmission control devices on the 6. 7 engine they would want it to run warmer not colder.

Maybe it's just me being paranoid.

My truck has a 200deg according to the specs.

I have a didgital readout in additon to the analog gauge and they both match.

It runs 195 on the freeway until I start to climb a hill. Then it will stay at 200 plus or minus 2 for the rest of the trip.

I believe the '09 is 195 degrees. Where you saw yours on the needle last year is where mine sits all the time. You might have a thermostat going out.



pwr2tow your 2010 has a hotter thermostat than the '09 and its not recommended to interchange them.
